Terms & Conditions
These terms are an agreement between you and ISS Tanzania Limited ("Peso", "we", "us"). By creating a Peso account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use Peso.
1. Who can use Peso
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must have a valid Tanzanian mobile number that you control.
- You must use Peso for yourself, not on behalf of somebody else.
- One person, one account.
2. Your account
Your phone number identifies your account, and we verify it with a one-time code sent by SMS. Keep control of that number and of your device — anyone who can receive your SMS codes can access your account.
Tell us immediately at peso.app@gmail.com if you think somebody else has access to your account or if you lose the phone number registered to it.
3. Your private wallet and the Public Wallet
Peso has two parts. Your personal wallet holds your own money: what you top up, what you receive and what you have not yet spent. It is private.
The Public Wallet is a shared balance that all signed-in users can see in real time. Peso Plus members may withdraw from it into their personal wallet and transfer from it, subject to the limits below. The Public Wallet is a shared facility, not a personal entitlement — we do not guarantee that funds will be available in it at any particular moment.
4. Peso Plus
- Peso Plus costs TZS 3,000 for 30 days.
- It is charged from your personal wallet balance, so you must have enough in your wallet to buy it.
- It does not renew automatically. When the 30 days end, it simply stops unless you buy it again.
- Buying it again before it expires adds 30 days to your remaining time — you never lose days you have paid for.
- Peso Plus is required for transfers and withdrawals from the Public Wallet.
5. Payments, refunds and cancellation
Because Peso Plus does not auto-renew, there is nothing to cancel — you can simply choose not to buy it again, and access ends when the 30 days run out.
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once the subscription period has begun. If you were charged in error, or a technical fault on our side prevented you from using what you paid for, contact peso.app@gmail.com within 14 days and we will review it and put right anything that was our mistake.
6. Limits
- Minimum transaction: TZS 100.
- Maximum transaction: TZS 1,000,000.
- A fee of 2% is recorded on transfers.
- We apply rate limits to sensitive actions to protect accounts from abuse.
We may change these limits. Where a change affects you materially we will tell you in the app.
7. Things you must not do
- Use Peso for money laundering, fraud, or the proceeds of crime.
- Use somebody else's phone number, or impersonate another person.
- Create multiple accounts to get around limits.
- Attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the app or our servers.
- Use automated tools to interact with Peso.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we may report unlawful activity to the authorities.
8. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time — see the account deletion page. Withdraw any remaining balance first, because closing the account ends your access to it.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. Where we can, we will tell you why.
9. Availability
We work to keep Peso available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. Maintenance, network problems, mobile money outages or SMS delays can all affect the service, and some of those are outside our control.
10. Our responsibility
Peso is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for loss arising because you allowed somebody else to use your account or your phone number.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and we will tell you in the app about significant changes. Continuing to use Peso after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and the courts of Tanzania have jurisdiction over any dispute.
